DONE DEAL: Club chief have reveal Rams will have a new starting QB when they face Packers next week as club has a mega deal for a top star

To summarize the Rams’ season, Matthew Stafford suffered a hand injury while receiving a 2-point conversion in a game in which L.A. trailed by 30 points.

Based on Sean McVay’s comments following Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, the Rams will likely need to find a new starter and backup quarterback. When asked about the injury that knocked Stafford out of the game in the second half, McVay told reporters, “It doesn’t seem like it’s good.”

Backup Brett Rypien made his first appearance with the Rams and could be in line to start next week against the Green Bay Packers if Stafford’s hand doesn’t improve unexpectedly.

Since placing fourth-round rookie Stetson Bennett on the Non-Football Injury list to begin the season, the Rams have barely mentioned him. Bennett struggled for the whole of the preseason and would not have won the backup job if not for the mitigating circumstances.

Will Carson Wentz be signed by the Rams this week?

They could, but Wentz isn’t in a better position to help Los Angeles than most other free agents. The Rams were unable to keep Baker Mayfield as a free agent, and he is now starting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, presumably not regretting his decision to go, but L.A. would like to have a stronger backup than Rypien right now.

The Packers are dealing with their own quarterback issue, as Jordan Love has not been the Aaron Rodgers replacement that Rodgers was for Brett Favre.

For the time being, it appears like McVay does not expect Matthew Stafford to be available in the near future due to a hand issue. Stafford was out for half of last season and half of this season. Stafford, how many seasons do you have left?
