BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle set to be offered January loan deal as summer target performs U-turn

Newcastle United could be offered the chance to recruit Man City midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan in January, according to Mark Douglas of iNews.
We were connected with a move for the England international earlier this summer, but the player decided to battle for his spot in Pep Guardiola’s plans at the moment.

A few months later, Douglas claims that Phillips is ‘increasingly likely’ to leave in January following a recent snub, with Guardiola preferring not to use the former Leeds star despite holding midfielder Rodri missing the previous three games due to suspension.

Newcastle’s summer interest is highlighted in the post, and it appears we may renew our interest, with people close to the issue expecting the 27-year-old to be available on loan.

However, “plenty of interest” will be generated. Everton and West Ham are also interested, and Liverpool and Bayern Munich have expressed preliminary interest.

Phillips made his single appearance this season in Man City’s 1-0 defeat at St James’ Park, when Alexander Isak’s second-half strike knocked the treble champions out in the third round.
