The Dutchman joined the north London club, but he wasn’t the only one. Ashley Phillips, a very talented 18-year-old, was actually acquired by Tottenham from Blackburn Rovers.

It was desired to add another center-half but eventually did not happen. However, Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Tottenham had been successful in making another transfer for the future.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou has reportedly succeeded where he failed at Celtic after reaching an agreement with Tottenham to sign a defender coveted by Manchester City.

Spurs made an effort to upgrade their center-back situation during the summer transfer window. The purchase of Micky van de Ven was the action that garnered media attention.

The Dutchman was not the only one to join the club in north London. Tottenham really acquired Ashley Phillips, a highly gifted 18-year-old, from Blackburn Rovers.

Although it was desired, the addition of a second center-half did not materialize. But according to a recent Fabrizio Romano report, Tottenham was successful in completing another acquisition for the future.

When he was Celtic’s manager, the Australian apparently coveted Vuskovic, however a transfer certainly never materialized.

Nevertheless, Postecoglou has been successful with Spurs the second time around, and in doing so, the club has fended off rivalry from some of Europe’s top teams.

In addition to Spurs, Man City, PSG, and AC Milan were reportedly interested in signing Vuskovic, according to Calciomercato.

It is believed that the transfer fee involved in this case is €14 million plus bonuses. That approximately equals £12 million.

It is unclear exactly when Vuskovic will join Tottenham, with some sources claiming it won’t happen until he reaches 18. Vuskovic wouldn’t move until February of 2025, according to that.

Calciomercato, however, comes to the conclusion that it is not yet certain that Tottenham cannot pull the transfer ahead to January 2024 before loaning the player to clubs of their choosing until the player turns 18 years old.

In any event, it is evident that Postecoglou and Spurs have finalized a deal that could perhaps turn out to be a stroke of genius in the future.
