Miyan Williams, the Ohio State Buckeyes’ running back, has been an important element of the team’s offensive attack in recent years, leading the team in rushing last year with 825 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 6.4 yards per carry. He hasn’t played nearly as much for the Buckeyes this season, and it appears that he’ll be out for the remainder of the season.
Head coach Ryan Day of the Ohio State Buckeyes stated on Tuesday that Miyan Williams will be out for the rest of the season after undergoing an unspecified medical procedure.
“I’m really sorry for Miyan; he won’t be able to play.” He underwent an operation. That is a significant blow for that room and our team. Ryan Day remarked on Tuesday, “He’s done a lot of great things for our team,” according to Steve Helwagen of Bucknuts in a post on X, the social networking platform formerly known as Twitter.
Day did not say whether Williams would be able to return to the squad next season, nor did he specify the nature or severity of the season.
With Williams gone for the season, Ohio State will most likely rely on TreVeyon Henderson and Chip Trayanum going forward, with Dallan Hayden maybe getting additional reps, though the school was hoping to redshirt Hayden this season.
