HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT: Vince Carter message and verdict to Celtics board Robert Williams III Trade – “Could Hurt Celtics”

Last week, the Boston Celtics made a significant trade for All-Star player Jrue Holiday. That move could help the Celtics take the next step toward winning their 18th NBA Championship and first since 2008. However, while Holiday is a significant addition, the Celtics gave up Robert William III and Malcolm Brogdon.
Williams has been an important part of the Celtics’ makeup in recent seasons, as he has consistently been one of the game’s greatest defensive centers when he has been in the lineup. Williams is a fantastic shot blocker and rebounder, and finding a way to win without him will be a significant issue for the squad.

Former NBA star Vince Carter admires Williams and believes his absence will be difficult for the Celtics to overcome.

“Losing Robert Williams is huge,” Carter remarked. “Everyone says he gets hurt a lot. That is entirely correct. But his presence is critical to what they’re trying to accomplish when facing Giannis (Antetokounmpo) or Joel Embiid, both of whom are very good in the post. After that, you’ll have to deal with A.D. (Anthony Davis) or the Joker (Nikola Jokic). They are incapable of dealing with those individuals.”

Carter is making an important argument that will loom over the Celtics all season. While they have Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and Luke Kornet to counter the game’s top big men, it may not be enough.
Robert Williams was a famous Celtics player, but he and Brogdon will now play for the Portland Trail Blazers.
