According to Calciomercato, Milan and Mike Maignan are negotiating to extend his contract. Milan wants to extend Maignan’s existing contract until 2028; it now expires in 2026.
The initial exploratory discussions have gone well, and both parties are eager to move forward. The shot-stopper’s salary would more than double under the prospective new agreement. He is anticipated to increase his salary from €2.8 million to €6 million in one season.
The French player joined Milan for €15.4 million from Lille and has been there for two years. Due to a thigh muscle injury, he is now unavailable, but Stefano Pioli anticipates having him back in the lineup in about a week.
Maignan is regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in the world right now, so for the Rossoneri to sign him for the next five years would be a significant show of purpose.
