HUGE SETBACK: Pioli have made his decision on center back dilemma – Milan starting XI vs Inter

Stefano Pioli, the head coach of AC Milan, will have to make a defensive substitution for the derby match against Inter on Saturday night.

Now that the international break is over, Pioli will have the entire team at Milanello starting the day after tomorrow to start preparation for the match against Inter, which will start at 18:00 CEST at San Siro.

According to MilanNews, the Rossoneri coach will be without two central defenders: the suspended Fikayo Tomori and the injured Pierre Kalulu, in addition to the long-term injury Ismael Bennacer is rehabilitating from.

Malick Thiaw and Simon Kjaer will consequently be Mike Maignan’s front-row players, with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez serving as the full-backs.

With Rade Krunic at the center of a three-man midfield made up of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tijjani Reijnders, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, the rest of the team should remain the same.

The anticipated attacking trio consists of Christian Pulisic, Olivier Giroud (who will recover from an ankle injury), and Rafael Leao.

The likely starting lineup for Milan   (4-3-3) is Maignan; Calabria; Thiaw; Kjaer; Theo Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek; Krunic; Reijnders; Pulisic; Giroud; and Leao.
