Enquires made and Bid Accepted: 49ers set to sell £46,000-a-week Leeds united Player in the next few days

Leeds United’s squad has gone through a number of changes in recent years, from starring in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa to being relegated under Sam Allardyce, and finally landing on Daniel Farke in an attempt to secure promotion from the Championship at the first time of asking.

However, the former Norwich City manager has managed just one victory in five league games, leaving the Whites four points off of the play-off spots and seven points behind of table-toppers Preston North End.

Now, one player who has been with the club from their Premier League triumphs to their relegation and following Championship struggle could finally secure a permanent departure from Elland Road.

What is the most recent Leeds United transfer rumor?
Leeds had a mixed summer transfer window in the end. While they bid farewell to Tyler Adams, Rodrigo, and Luis Sinisterra, they did keep Wilfried Gnonto and secure the acquisition of Joel Piroe, who scored 20 goals for Swansea City previous season.

With the bulk of transfer windows now closed, including the Saudi Pro League’s, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Yorkshire club’s time under new owners the 49ers Enterprises had come to an end. That does not appear to be the case.

According to writer Ben Jacobs of Give Me Sport, winger Helder Costa could still leave, with Turkish clubs making inquiries with the market open until September 15th. Farke also stated to the Yorkshire Evening Post that the winger wishes to leave the club and is not part of his plans. Jacobs stated:

“There hasn’t been a lot of buzz around Costa. There had been some inquiries from Saudi Arabia, as well as from Turkey. We will have to wait and see what happens. There is a chance he will depart for good. On the Saudi side, he received an inquiry approximately three weeks ago from Al-Taawoun, and Al-Shabab had examined a contract under their prior board.

“A couple of Turkish clubs have also made inquiries.” So, I believe Leeds would prefer to find a solution there. But we must wait and see what happens now, because nothing was concrete or close to being done by the end of August. Of fact, from a player’s perspective, there are fewer possibilities on the table.

“So, regardless of what the club thinks, you will get some players who would rather sit it out until January or see if they can change the manager’s mind between now and then because there may be more options available to them in the new year.”

Should Leeds United sell Helder Costa?
Costa isn’t exactly wanted around Elland Road these days, having previously spent loan spells in Saudi Arabia and Valencia without a permanent move.

Offloading Costa would also free up some space on Leeds’ salary bill, with the winger earning an estimated £46k per week at the Yorkshire club. Having said that, a move would certainly benefit all parties concerned, whether it happens this summer or in January, and it appears to be one to watch despite the domestic window closing at the beginning of the month.
