Breaking News: Manchester City now in advance talks with Paris Club – As PSG offered two players in swap deal for Bernardo Silva

According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain offered two players in exchange for Bernardo Silva.

Silva extended his employment with Manchester City till 2026 in August. The attacking midfielder from Portugal, who moved to City from Monaco in 2017, claimed that the reason he chose to stay at the organization is because it gave him “the chance to keep winning.”

In his six years at the Etihad, Silva has won five Premier League championships, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and the Champions League.

Given that PSG was rumored to have been close to reaching an agreement with Silva this summer, City fans would have collectively exhaled with relief when Silva signed his extension.

Silva was one of PSG’s top targets this summer, and the French giants believed they were close to a deal, according to Sky Sports. Having worked with Silva at Monaco, PSG’s sporting director Luis Campos is familiar with the player.

However, Pep Guardiola is thought to have stepped in to prevent Silva from leaving this summer.
PSG appeared committed to acquiring Silva. Indeed, the Ligue 1 team was willing to include players like Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma in a trade for the midfielder, according to CBS writer Jonathan Johnson.

However, City was more eager to sign Warren Zaire-Emery, a 17-year-old PSG talent, and get a big transfer price.

“It’s well known that PSG wanted to sign Bernardo Silva, and Zaire-Emery was mentioned when an approach was made for Silva early in the summer,” Johnson wrote in Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefings.

PSG were willing to include players like Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti in a deal for Silva, but City were more keen in obtaining Zaire-Emery and, of course, a significant sum of money.

That didn’t happen, and it appears that 17-year-old has a part to play for Luis Enrique now.

Since the beginning of the Ligue 1 season, Zaire-Emery has received a substantial amount of playing time from Enrique. He appears to be a member of this established midfield three, and he is actually making strides.
