DONE DEAL: Bradford City have announced the signing of profile Sensational Defender

Jonathan Tomkinson, a defender, has been signed by Bradford City AFC on a temporary loan from Norwich City.

The Bantams got approval from the EFL on a deal that was completed before Friday’s transfer deadline, and the American-born center defender joins from the Sky Bet Championship team until the end of the 2023–24 season.

Tomkinson, who stands 6 feet 4 inches tall, started his youth career at FC Dallas. He later played for Solar SC before joining Norwich in 2019.

The American under-17 international, who is 21 years old, has made three senior appearances for the Canaries. He assisted Boro in gaining promotion to Sky Bet League One by spending the second half of the previous season on loan at Stevenage.

Tomkinson exclaimed, “I am so happy to be here. I have a great opportunity here. I’m excited to play some games and, maybe, pursue promotions.

Although the past few days have been busy, I couldn’t ignore the offer when I heard from Bradford City. I wish to take part in significant contests for this club because they have high goals.

“I’ve always thought of myself as a center-back who plays the ball. I am confident with the ball and don’t hesitate to intervene or cross lines.

“I am eager to begin. I’ll give the club everything I’ve got. I’m incredibly happy to be here, and I believe we can do great things.

“Jon is a strong center-half with multiple facets to his game, and we are now thrilled to have him with us after trying to make a trade for him on deadline day.

In addition to having the physical skills necessary to compete at this level, his time spent in the USA and in League Two with promoted Stevenage the previous year has made him a well-rounded footballer with a wide range of skills.

“I am sure he is looking forward to playing in front of you all, and we are looking forward to getting him started in claret and amber.”
