Manchester City and England face a severe injury blow as trio stars is sidelined in yet another setback for Pep Guardiola.

The 27-year-old Englishman became the latest Manchester City player to be injured, after a thigh ailment forced him to miss the Blues’ win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester City continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 5-1 triumph over Marco Silva’s side, as Erling Haaland’s hat-trick in the second half powered the treble-winners to a fourth consecutive Premier League victory.

Juanma Lillo, who is still in charge of the treble-winners in the absence of Pep Guardiola, gave new acquisition Jeremy Doku his Manchester City and Premier League debut, as Jack Grealish became the latest absentee due to injury.

The England forward had started the Blues’ last two Premier League games against Newcastle and Sheffield United, but he was not included in the matchday squad for this weekend’s victory over Fulham.

Following the conclusion of the forthcoming international break, Manchester City’s next Premier League encounter is against West Ham on Saturday, September 16th.

Grealish’s availability for both Manchester City and England, though, is a major problem as Gareth Southgate included the 27-year-old to his Three Lions squad for future matches against Ukraine and Scotland.

Pep Guardiola is also without Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones due to injuries, while Manchester City has allowed England U21 pair Cole Palmer and James McAtee to leave the Etihad Stadium on Deadline Day.

Palmer joined Chelsea for £42.5 million, while McAtee returned to Sheffield United on a season-long loan.

Following Saturday’s win, Manchester City assistant manager Junama Lillo confirmed that Grealish’s thigh injury will likely force the winger to miss the upcoming England international fixtures.
“It will be difficult for Jack [Greaish] to be called up to the [England] national team.” I am not a doctor, so I shall struggle to explain.”

Grealish, along with Kyle Walker, Kalvin Phillips, and Phil Foden, was one of four Manchester City players called up to the England team.
