In the event that Giannis Antetokounmpo demands a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks, the San Antonio Spurs are one of the teams with the best odds to sign him.
With odds of +200, Sports Betting AG ranked the Spurs second only to the New York Knicks (+100). The top five picks to be Antetokounmpo’s next team are the Boston Celtics (+1600), Brooklyn Nets (+600), and Miami Heat (+500).
Shams Charania of ESPN claims that Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee is still uncertain.
It is August 4 and we are standing here. On ESPN’s “Get Up” on August 4, Charania stated, “Sources tell me there’s still nothing set in stone regarding whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will stay in Milwaukee or whether he will be leaving.” Therefore, he will keep assessing his future.
In mid-May, I wrote that he was determining whether Milwaukee or another location would be the greatest fit for him. And that process is still going on. Over the past week or so, some very genuine conversations have taken place. “Can I win a championship with this roster?” is Giannis’s incessant query, though. Will this roster cover both the current year and 2026–2027? His goal is to take home a second title. Therefore, he keeps asking that question.
Myles Turner effectively took Brook Lopez’s place after he signed a free agency contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. Then, to cover for the ailing Damian Lillard, they signed Cole Anthony, a longtime backup point guard.
His outstanding $103 million contract was extended and waived in order to free up funds for Turner’s signing.
However, Antetokounmpo is agitated about his chances of winning a second ring since those aren’t needle-movers.
The Spurs Package B/R Is Offering Giannis
By teaming up with Victor Wembanyama, Antetokounmpo may be able to get the second ring he so much wants.
According to Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes, the Spurs have the potential to offer the Bucks the most comprehensive trade package, which should be too good to refuse. The Knicks don’t have a young prospect, and their draft capital has dried up. The only trade bait they have for a possible Antetokounmpo trade is Karl-Anthony Towns.
Hughes has proposed the following trade:

Harrison Barnes, Stephon Castle, Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, and the 2027, 2029, and 2031 first-round picks (more advantageous of SAC or SAS) are all acquired by the Milwaukee Bucks.
With De’Aaron Fox and No. 2 selection Dylan Harper on either side, the twin tower of Antetokounmpo and Victor Wembanyama will be a formidable force for many years to come.
Will Antetokounmpo and Wembanyama Follow the Duncan-Robinson Duo?
Hughes wrote that by adding Giannis to Wembanyama from the previous season, the Spurs “would become an instant contender.”
A possible Wembanyama-Antetokounmpo duo to be the next Tim Duncan-David Robinson star of the next Spurs dynasty may only be seriously threatened by health issues.
Due to a blood clot in his right shoulder, Wembanyama missed 36 games during the previous season. He said in July that he was cleared to resume basketball-related activity this summer.
However, Hughes commented, “Well, let’s just say the Oklahoma City Thunder’s obvious path to a dynasty will have a major obstacle if Wemby continues to improve as expected.”
