Norman Powell, a former guard for the Los Angeles Clippers, was acquired by the Miami Heat this summer in a low-risk, high-reward transaction.
However, there is still time for more improvements. According to a recent FanNation trade suggestion, Miami might make a blockbuster trade with the Atlanta Hawks to acquire Utah Jazz star Lauri Markkanen.
Svi Mykhailiuk is given to the Hawks.

“Cleveland thoroughly outperformed Miami in the 2025 playoffs’ opening round. If they hope to return to the NBA Finals following their 2023 run, they must add more scoring and two-way players who can play through the playoffs. They’ve had trouble adjusting to Jimmy Butler’s departure, so it might be time to add another quality player to the roster to go along with Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.”
In addition to Andrew Wiggins, the Heat’s starting frontcourt would include Adebayo, Markkanen, and sophomore Kel’El Ware. Ware shot 55.4 percent from the floor and averaged 9.3 points and 7.4 rebounds during his stellar first campaign
.
With an average of 19 points on 42.3 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from 3-point range previous season, Markkanen’s output declined. Nevertheless, he would strengthen the offensive unit, particularly when teamed with Adebayo in the frontcourt. He might finish in the top two or three in this lineup, which would relieve some of the load on Adebayo.
