SHOCKING NEWS: Lions Are Set to Part Ways With Quarterback in Surprise Move

With good reason, the Detroit Lions are currently among the NFL’s most well-known teams. Naturally, the biggest shift is that, following the Lions’ successful 2024 season, the team lost two key personnel at the same time: offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. They also lost a few assistant coaches.

With Aaron Glenn with the New York Jets and Johnson joining the Chicago Bears, Dan Campbell has a completely new coaching staff.

As a result, everyone is watching Detroit to see what they can accomplish without these key players.

The Lions are now expected to make a significant move regarding their quarterback room before September.

Chris Schad pushes the Lions to acquire a new backup quarterback in place of Jared Goff in an article published on Sunday, June 22, for FanSided’s Detroit Jock City.

“Hendon Hooker, a 2023 third-round pick, didn’t improve in his sophomore year, but Goff is solidly established as Detroit’s franchise quarterback,” he said. “Kyle Allen was also signed by the Lions to offer competition, but he has been inconsistent when used, finishing with a 7-12 starting record and an 82.3 passer rating in his seven-year career.”
