The Braves were expected to be among the top MLB clubs going into the season after proving to be a force to be reckoned with during the 2023 campaign. Rather, the Braves, who won 104 games in 2023, have been unable to win games due to injuries. They are currently 31-38 and have a 4-6 record over the last ten games.
The Braves may be able to let go of left-hander Chris Sale, according to some, and the New York Yankees would be a great fit if they are prepared to do so.
Our own Cole Shelton of Heavy Sports recently came up with a trade proposal for the Braves to transfer him to the Yankees. He would deal Sale for Brock Selvidge and Spencer Jones, two of the Yankees’ best prospects.
According to Shelton, “New York would acquire Sale for two top-10 prospects, including their second-ranked prospect, making the proposed deal a blockbuster.”
Shelton stated, “Sale, who is making $22 million this season and has a club option for $18 million, would be acquired by the Yankees.” After Max Fried and Carlos Rodon, Sale would be the Yankees’ third starter, making for an excellent three-man rotation in a postseason series. Sale has made 14 starts this season and is 4-4 with a 2.79 ERA.
In addition to being an eight-time All-Star and winning the World Series with the Boston Red Sox in 2018, he was named the 2024 NL Cy Young.

It would seem like something the New York Yankees would love to do if they had to give up only Jones and Selvidge.

Kristie Ackert of Athlon Sports stated that Jones, who was long thought to be an untouchable prospect, is anticipated to be a name to keep an eye on in trade talks this summer, raising questions about whether the Yankees would let him go.
It makes sense if the Yankees let him go because of his strikeout problems, but it would be even more logical if the Braves didn’t want him.
