JUST IN: Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel Break Silence With a Shocking and Brutal Decision Amid Impending Jalen Ramsey Trade

Jalen Ramsey of the Miami Dolphins is on the trading block, and with both sides deciding to part ways, it’s just a matter of time before a deal is reached. While Ramsey is still a Dolphin, the day when he dons a new jersey is not far off.

Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver has finally spoken up about losing an All-Pro and potential Hall of Famer in Ramsey.

In an article by C. Isaiah Smalls II in The Miami Herald, Weaver discussed Ramsey’s departure from the Dolphins and how he plans to approach the job moving forward.

Weaver stated, “In this game, things change every day. I have a lot of respect for Ramsey. He played great basketball for us, but relationships are difficult. Both sides have voluntarily decided to go the other way. I respect that and wish him all the best.”

Losing a player of Ramsey’s level will be difficult for the Dolphins. Ramsey has been named three All-Pros and seven Pro Bowlers during his remarkable NFL career.

Ramsey has 24 interceptions and 108 pass breakups across his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, and Miami Dolphins. He has also allowed quarterbacks to have a passer rating of only 76.5 when he is targeted.

Ramsey was named to one Pro Bowl in Miami in 2023, while his absence from the Pro Bowl in 2024 was the first since 2019.

The Dolphins extended Ramsey’s contract by three years and $72.1 million before of the 2024 season. Ramsey, however, is leaving after less than a year. Weaver recognizes the task he will confront, but he does not seek compassion for his circumstances.

“I’m not receiving sympathy cards from anyone. It is my responsibility, as well as our team’s, to figure out how to make these components function together. What I know is that every player here is wanting to improve and has bought in.

The Dolphins’ new cornerback room will include Storm Duck, Kader Kohou, Artie Burns, Cam Smith, Jason Marshall Jr., Kendall Sheffield, Isaiah Johnson, Ethan Bonner, and Jason Maitre.

While the Dolphins are in need of all-around upgrades, they have been linked to a number of free-agent cornerbacks, including Rasul Douglas and Asante Samuel Jr.

Regardless of who is acquired, Weaver is up for the job and will find a way to make the most of the components in the cornerback room that they have.
