This offseason, all eyes are on Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, particularly after ESPN’s Shams Charania stated he is “open-minded” about going elsewhere.
The Miami Heat are linked in rumors about almost any superstar who enters the trade market, including Antetokounmpo. To get Antetokounmpo in a blockbuster deal, either Bam Adebayo or Tyler Herro would most likely have to be traded.
Heat fans have already linked the latter Miami All-Star to Antetokounmpo, after an old Instagram Story of Herro wearing the Bucks star’s jersey surfaced.
The comments section of the resurrected photo was flooded with requests for Antetokounmpo to team up with Herro in Miami.
While a squad led by Antetokounmpo and Herro could make noise in a weak Eastern Conference, the assets required to lure Antetokounmpo to Miami would reduce the team’s depth. The Heat could face a similar situation as the Los Angeles Lakers had this postseason, in which their great players are unable to carry the full job.
Not to mention that playing against a club with strong guard talent, such as the Cleveland Cavaliers or New York Knicks, might pose severe challenges for Herro and his teammates.
It would be silly to pass up the opportunity to sign Antetokounmpo, but Heat team president Pat Riley must be prepared to find help elsewhere.
