The most likely scenario for the 2025–2026 season seems to be to give Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo a chance to lead the Miami Heat.
However, an organization’s plans might always change if the proper chance presented itself at the trade deadline in February.
With players like Chris Paul, James Harden, Bradley Beal, and Kawhi Leonard leading the league’s oldest roster, the Los Angeles Clippers’ future is uncertain. It’s possible that the older players all succeed together, or injuries and inconsistent play might force the Clippers out of the running for the championship.
The Heat might jump in and sign Leonard in a win-now blockbuster trade if the latter occurs, according to PFSN.
Miami’s front office will benefit greatly from the six-time All-Star’s three-year, $153 million contract, which has two seasons left on it. Before funds are released for what is anticipated to be a loaded 2027 free agency class, the Heat would have a few seasons to contend with a trio of Herro, Adebayo, and Leonard.
Trading in Los Angeles Draft capital, players like Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Nikola Jovic might be included in this scenario since Leonard would indicate that a rebuild is imminent.
It’s much more possible that Leonard will end his turbulent career in Los Angeles or somewhere else because the Heat are frequently obstinate about how many assets are given up.
