BREAKING: Green Bay Packers Are Set To Welcome Back Veteran Free Agent Cornerback In a Big Reunion Before Entering 2025 Season

The 2025 NFL season is almost approaching, and the Green Bay Packers will be one of the more intriguing teams to follow early on. After making the playoffs in consecutive seasons since Aaron Rodgers’ departure, it’s time for the Packers to demonstrate their ability to be a true contender.

Each of the last two years, the team has demonstrated championship potential. However, they have failed to make the necessary plays in the playoffs.

Jordan Love begins his third season as Green Bay’s starter. He has an outstanding offense surrounding him.

The Packers’ defense has the potential to be very good in Jeff Hafley’s second year as defensive coordinator.

There are some questions about the secondary.

Could general manager Brian Gutekunst consider making a deal before the season begins to strengthen the defensive backfield? One name has been mentioned as a possible target.

Packers sign CB Rasul Douglas

The Green Bay Packers have been linked to a big reunion before entering the 2025 season.
According to Bleacher Report analyst Matt Holder, experienced free agent cornerback Rasul Douglas would be best suited to Green Bay. Of course, Douglas is well-known among the fans.

Douglas enjoyed a good time with the Packers just a few years ago. He was popular with the fans before being dealt to the Buffalo Bills.

“Douglas relaunched his career with the Packers in 2021, and a reunion would make perfect sense. “After replacing Jaire Alexander last month, Green Bay is expected to start Nate Hobbs and Keisean Nixon at outside cornerback,” Holder wrote. “Both Hobbs and Nixon are better at nickelback, though, so adding Douglas could allow one of them to move back to their more natural position.”

Douglas slowed his output during the 2024 NFL season with the Bills.

He appeared in 15 games, making 58 total tackles, forcing one turnover, and defending five passes.

However, in the 2023 season, divided between Green Bay and Buffalo, he performed significantly better. He finished with 61 total tackles, a sack, three fumble recoveries, five interceptions, a defensive score, and 14 passes defended.

A reunion with Douglas makes a lot of sense for the Packers. It’s unclear whether the team would be interested in that move, but it’s certainly a possibility to examine.
