It’s a hectic time in the NBA as the league prepares for the 2025 NBA Draft, which begins tonight at 8 p.m. ET. The San Antonio Spurs, who have the No. 2 overall choice, are one of the teams that have been quite active.
While Cooper Flagg is widely predicted to be the Dallas Mavericks’ first overall choice, guard Dylan Harper is projected to be the second. Nonetheless, the Spurs already have two standout guards in De’Aaron Fox and reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle. Is there room for Harper too?
According to Yahoo Sports’ NBA source Kevin O’Connor, the Spurs could consider moving on from Fox, Castle, or even the second choice.

While there is no certainty that Harper will become an NBA star, he is expected to make an early impact on any team he joins. The Spurs may believe they do not have enough minutes in their guard rotation, which might lead to a trade. Still, having too many excellent contributors isn’t a negative problem, and the Spurs could benefit from their current scenario.
