The Boston Celtics have completed their first big move of the summer, moving Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons. With Holiday gone, Kristaps Porzingis is up next. Jake Fischer shared some of the most recent information on Porzingis’ trade market, which includes the San Antonio Spurs.

“Another team we’ve heard with a level of Porzingis interest: San Antonio,” Fischer pointed out. “According to insiders, the Spurs have had preliminary discussions about trading for the 7-foot-2 center. That would be an intriguing outcome for Porzingis if he joined the Spurs alongside 7-foot-5 Victor Wembanyama.

“As Monday night dribbled into Tuesday morning, I was cautioned that San Antonio, in the end, should probably be classified as an unlikely destination for Porzingis.”
A new report has surfaced about the probable trade between San Antonio and Boston. News 4 San Antonio’s Don Harris confirmed the Spurs’ interest in Porzingis. He also revealed the status of negotiations between the two parties and who he believes will return to Boston.

Similar to the Holiday deal, the Celtics would prioritize conserving money in a Porzingis trade. Boston didn’t save much money on the Holiday move, so if the same thing happens with Porzingis, they may have to trade more players away to meet their offseason goals.
