Jalen Hurts is best known for throwing darts down football fields, but the quarterback is now honing his skills with a pen.
The Philadelphia Eagles player, 26, announced on Monday that he is the author of a new children’s book called ‘Better Than a Touchdown.’
The football-themed book, illustrated by Nneka Myers, who previously worked on the Beyonce-themed children’s book from The Littlest Fans series, is claimed to emphasize the values of camaraderie and teamwork.
‘Some of the most essential teachings I’ve carried into my adult life were passed down to me during childhood, such as the significance of accomplishing something bigger than oneself,’ Hurts told TODAY.
‘I’m pleased to share some of that wisdom with a new generation of children in “Better Than a Touchdown.”‘
The book is available for pre-order from Penguin Random House for $19.99, and it will be released on March 10, 2026, more than a year after Hurts and the Eagles won Super Bowl LIX.
In February, the Eagles’ signal caller led them to a stunning 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.
Hurts was one of several Eagles players who declined the traditional trip to the White House to visit President Donald Trump in honor of their championship victory.
‘I was not available,’ he told reporters. I don’t think that’s relevant. Everyone who went and was available appeared to enjoy themselves.
Hurts was not the only Eagles player to miss the trip; A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Jalen Carter were also absent.
However, Hurts’ overwhelming victory, which served as retaliation for the Chiefs’ comeback over Philadelphia in the big game in 2023, isn’t his only major accomplishment this season.
In an April interview, the Super Bowl MVP disclosed that he married his longtime girlfriend, Bry Burrows, earlier this year.
Hurts and Burrows ignited marriage speculations in February after Burrows was photographed wearing a ring on her right hand while celebrating with the quarterback after Philadelphia’s Super Bowl LIX victory against the Chiefs.
Hurts also seemed to be sporting a bracelet around his left ring finger prior to the game.
Two months later, it was announced that the couple is married, with Burrows referred to as Hurts’ wife in a recent Men’s Health interview.
While the quarterback did not discuss his relationship, he did show off a nice greeting from Bryonna on a post-it note.
‘You are exactly where you need to be. I love you. Follow God! “I follow you,” it read.
Hurts and Burrows announced their engagement in September, with Hurts proposing in a romantic beachfront setting.
Despite having previously confirmed their marriage, Hurts and Burrows celebrated their wedding in a lavish ceremony earlier this month.
According to Page Six, the happy couple hired out the Four Seasons hotel in Napa Valley for a weekend to celebrate their wedding with their loved ones.
