BALTIMORE— At least one of Lamar Jackson’s top targets believes the Baltimore Ravens may have the most dangerous version of him yet. When asked about Jackson’s offseason performance, wide receiver Rashod Bateman didn’t mince words and made a statement that would undoubtedly make headlines in the NFL.
After a recent exercise, Bateman told reporters, “#8 looks faster, leaner, and scarier than ever.” This is a new level; it’s not simply Lamar being Lamar. Just wait if you previously believed he was dangerous; he is now locked in.
Expectations are quite high in Baltimore following a successful 2024 season in which the Ravens advanced to the AFC Championship. The 2019 NFL MVP, Jackson, has been working out hard with his receivers and cutting down for speed during the offseason.
He’s in the finest physical and mental health of his career, according to insiders, and Bateman’s remarks just serve to fuel that claim.
He’s thinking more quickly. He’s moving more fluidly now. The ball is emerging more quickly. There isn’t any hesitancy. He appears to be in complete control,” Bateman continued.
Described as a leaner and more explosive dual-threat, this Lamar Jackson may be a nightmare for teams that are already having trouble keeping him in check. Additionally, the Ravens are quietly assembling the necessary components for a genuine Super Bowl push with an improved offensive unit that features Bateman, Zay Flowers, tight end Mark Andrews, and a healthy backfield.
The Ravens’ front management appears to agree, continuing to be aggressive in the draft and free agency to make sure Jackson has all the backing he needs. In the meantime,
Bateman’s optimism was shared by head coach John Harbaugh, who said, “Lamar has been relentless this offseason.” He works as though he wants everything.
What scares opponents the most? Jackson has yet to reach his ceiling. And that ceiling might now be broken with a completely recovered cast and more drive.
The word from Baltimore is obvious as training camp draws near: Lamar Jackson is already here and this version of him may be unstoppable. Conflicting defenses? We’ve warned you.
