BREAKING: Miami Heat Are Officially Set To Part Ways With $97 Million Guard to Facilitate Kevin Durant Signing

Spectators are considering all combinations of veterans, young players, and draft picks to add to a package for the 15-time All-Star as the Miami Heat pursue Kevin Durant.

One of the first names mentioned in the potential packages is Terry Rozier, a guard for the Heat. According to one Bleacher Report piece, the Heat’s top offseason goal is to get Rozier.

Heat's message to Terry Rozier: 'We want Terry to be Terry.' It's a work in progress

“Choosing Terry Rozier is a vote in favor of purchasing; whether or not that was the proper decision is a different story.
However, the Heat have always prioritized quick reinvention over a slow rebuild that would involve trading for players like Tyler Herro or Bam Adebayo.

Splashy swings are perfect for Rozier’s contract. Even though he just had a memorable year, his $26.6 million salary ($24.9 million guaranteed) will be paid out next summer and is expensive enough to be the pay anchor of a big deal.

The goal of bringing Rozier to Miami was to give Jimmy Butler, the star, another scoring option. But his time with the Heat has been incredibly disappointing due to injuries and poor play. Last season, Rozier saw a sharp decline in his scoring, averaging 10.8, his lowest since 2019. After being removed from Miami’s starting lineup, he became one of the key players that may be traded this summer.

REPORT: The Heat, Mavericks & Rockets are expected to make one final push to acquire the Suns Superstar Kevin Durant this summer in a trade package. @WindhorstESPN: : r/heat

Rozier won’t have much space in the starting backcourt given Tyler Herro’s breakout performance as an All-Star and the effort to keep Davion Mitchell. He will probably be traded for Durant or another league star in a huge deal.
