BREAKING NEWS: NBA World and Spurs Family Explode With Stunning Reaction Following Victor Wembanyama, De’Aaron Fox Latest Spurs Update

Injuries began to mount up for the San Antonio Spurs around the close of the 2024-25 season. Victor Wembanyama, a second-year sensation, was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis, a blood clot, in his left shoulder in February, while De’Aaron Fox, who was recently acquired, underwent surgery on his left pinky finger, an issue that had bothered him since training camp with the Sacramento Kings.

Both players are slated to return for the start of the 2025-26 season, but one Spurs player provided an update on how the club is progressing.

Spurs' honest take on finishing season without Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox

Blake Wesley was in the team’s practice facility on Wednesday and chatted briefly with the media while shooting around with the Math Hoops Champion, revealing that everyone on the squad has been in the building and working.

“Everybody’s healthy,” Wesley began. “We are getting better. We’re here for 2 1/2 hours every day, so we’re improving. We have the second, fourteenth, and thirty-sixth picks in the upcoming draft, or something along those lines. We’re just grinding it out and getting better.

Wesley, a former first-round choice from Notre Dame, is entering his fourth season with the Spurs, but he has struggled to find consistent playing time. He participated in 58 games last season, but played less than 12 minutes per game. However, the fact that he and the rest of the team are at the gym, exercising, and staying healthy is a wonderful sign as the summer approaches.

San Antonio can add to their already outstanding young core, which includes Wembanyama, Fox, and Stephon Castle, with two lottery picks in this year’s draft. They’re expected to sign Rutgers player Dylan Harper, giving the Spurs a dangerous guard trifecta.
