Fans of the Mets now discuss the length of time it will take for Ronny Mauricio to be called up to the major leagues on a daily basis.
Given that the offense isn’t playing at its best and that Mauricio is doing well in Triple-A, the Flushing administration has been inundated with inquiries about the young prospect’s future, and it’s understandable why.
Mauricio has batted in seven games since rejoining Triple-A Syracuse following a rehab assignment. 560 with an OPS of 1.546 and three home runs. Even if the sample size is modest, it’s sufficient to increase the noise surrounding the Mets prospect.
Before Saturday’s match against the Rockies, manager Carlos Mendoza was questioned about the Mauricio rumors he was hearing. The second-year captain was straightforward about what he had heard, but he also dampened expectations.

Of that quartet, only Acuña and Baty have minor league options left, although they are both currently essential to the team’s recent success. Acuña provides Mendoza with much-needed versatility with his speed and defense as a bench player, while Baty swings a scorching bat and plays excellent defense.
The Mets want Mauricio to continue playing the field and getting at-bats as frequently as possible because of that logjam, and for the time being, playing in the minor leagues is the only option to achieve that goal. However, Mendoza stated on Saturday that decisions will need to be taken at some point.
He stated, “At this time, we want him to continue receiving daily reps.” “It’s likely that he will eventually compel us to come here, but meanwhile, just let him play.”
