Despite the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo still has a few years on his contract, the Milwaukee Bucks may be preparing for life without him. The Bucks have failed to go past the first round of the NBA playoffs for three consecutive seasons.
Milwaukee may have reached its ceiling, and it is time to start over. Several NBA teams likely want to trade for Antetokounmpo this offseason. The Bucks must decide what is best for the club and Antetokounmpo going ahead. NBA commentators debated which organization would be best for the superstar in the years to come.
NBA Analyst Discusses Where Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo Would Most Benefit Next Season.
On Monday morning’s First Take, Molly Qerim asked Stephen A. Smith which destination he might visit that would potentially impact the NBA landscape. Smith said:
“It might be San Antonio. If I’m being honest, you’re talking about Giannis, Wembanyama, and De’Aaron Fox, and I know Chris Paul isn’t going to leave if that situation arises.”
The Spurs’ new NBA big three would be Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama, and De’Aaron Fox. San Antonio would have draft capital and young players to trade with the Bucks. If the trade between these two organizations goes through, the Spurs might be instant NBA title contenders next season. Many other NBA teams will make a splash for him, including the Houston Rockets and the Brooklyn Nets.
San Antonio ended with a 34-48 record in the 2024-2025 NBA season, ranking 13th in the Western Conference. The Spurs’ chances of winning the NBA championship in 2025-2026 would rise if they acquired Antetokounmpo in a trade with Milwaukee this offseason.
