HUGE DEAL SEALED: Rangers Officially Completed and Announced The Signing Of $13 Million Left-Shot Defenseman In Zac Jones Swap To Officially Kick Start Mike Sullivan New Era

One season after reaching the NHL’s Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in three years, the New York Rangers did not make the playoffs at all. After starting the season on a 12-4-1 run, the wheels came off as they won only four of the following 19 games and lost 15, virtually ensuring their destiny.

Not surprisingly, two days after the regular season ended, New York fired head coach Peter Laviolette, who led the Rangers to the conference finals in his first season at Madison Square Garden but was not given a second opportunity following this season’s failure.
